Third Time Lucky

Chris Bice had a shit of a time in 2021 when it came to engines, but he was finally rewarded with some strong performances from his ‘59 Chevy pick up.

After starting out 2021 with a fresh motor, Bice had to scramble to get another one built after melting four pistons.

The 555ci big block runs on pump gas E85 (with a 38 gallon fuel cell on board and 50 gallons on the trailer) and benefits from a healthy spray of nitrous at the strip.

“I have tried to do Drag Week two other times and it was cancelled, and I was scheduled to run this one last year and it was cancelled too,” he said.

“I dragged this truck out of a field and paid $500 for it. I’ve had it going on 13 years. It doesn’t matter where you are, it draws people. They want to climb on it, take photos with it. It’s crazy.”
