Big tires, small wheelbase. The Gremlin of Dale and Billy Gebhart always promises excitement.

The Gebhart machine arrived at Summit Midwest Drags in 2021 already wearing the scars of a previous incident.

“It did a wheelie out past the 330 and came down and crashed against the wall,” Dale said.

In the pits, the father and son team discovered the shock mount was still torn off the frame, and the crooked motor plate suggested the Gremlin was perhaps tweaked.

“My chassis guy called me and said, ‘I saw on the live stream what you did, just come on down when you get back and we’ll see what we can do,’’’ Billy recalled, laughing
