This Idaho Drag Strip Needs a Buyer

With so many stories about drag strips being closed around the nation, here is your chance to own one, with the promise of being a place ‘where dreams come true and you’re 18 again for a little while.’

Idaho’s Sage Raceway is currently up for sale, for the low, low price of $1.25 million.

You might be out on the plains, but you’re also in the shadow of Yellowstone National Park and plenty of beautiful mountain territory.

The track itself is virtually brand new, having opened in 2017. The venue comes with the usual features including a tower building, grandstands, covered eating facilities, and staging lanes. It’s being sold as a turn-key operation with excess land for expansion, providing opportunity for additional entertainment, faciliites and amenities.

Tracks are being closed everywhere. Tell everyone that your local tracks demand support!

Track prep equipment, top-of-the-line computers and timing equipment, a backhoe and two ATVs are included in sale. The ad also notes that the drag strip is ‘ideally located near farms to prevent neighbor disturbances.’ Well that’s good news!

Note how the plot of land below takes advantage of the space between two crops. Maybe this is a model more regional tracks could use.

As a bonus, you get the mother of all sheds! You could do test hits in a blizzard if you concreted this thing. We’re only half joking.
