Sick The Magazine, the Print Magazine Dedicated to the Drag and Drive Lifestyle, PACKS a Lot More Benefits Than JUST A GREAT MAGAZINE

Although there is a lot of media available online these days, many share the opinion that nothing compares to print publications.

Something about being able to hold a magazine, a newspaper, or any other kind of publication in your hands, being able to share it with friends and family, it resonates differently than doing so with a website.

Although some may think Sick Week was Tom Bailey’s initial way of supporting the drag and drive hobby, it was actually the print edition of Sick The Magazine getting its start in 2021 that was Tom’s first vision.

“Participating in the events and meeting so many great people, I noticed that there wasn’t a magazine covering this growing segment,” said Tom. “When you have a lot of people supporting a segment of the car hobby, well as each other on the events, I felt that that deserved more recognition.”

“To try and fill a gap in what’s there (for event and participant coverage), especially to bring more credibility to a lot of the drag and drive events that are out there, we’re looking at creating a magazine.”

Tom‘s words from a May 2021 YouTube video would signal the launch of the first issue of Sick The Magazine, which would hit mailboxes in August as the Summer 2021 issue. Watch the initial video below:

Done to a higher standard, each double issue of Sick The Magazine features over 200 pages of actual content. Yes, there are advertising pages, but they will normally account for only a dozen pages or less. This gives subscribers tons of event coverage, car features, great columns from Tom, editor Luke Nieuwhof, and guest columns as well.

Sick The Magazine also employs thicker stock paper and a cleaner layout, resulting in the kind of print magazine you want to hang on to, even after you’ve read it cover-to-cover!

In just over three and a half years since, the print edition of Sick The Magazine has brought coverage of not just Sick’s events, but several others, to a growing subscriber base. We’ve expanded coverage over what had traditionally been done, in both results and photos.

As Sick The Magazine has grown, print subscribers have also seen more benefits than what we initially set out to accomplish.

As a print magazine subscriber, you automatically get entries into every vehicle giveaway that we’ve done. No additional purchase is necessary; it comes as part of being a loyal subscriber. In fact, a couple of our vehicle winners have come from just being subscribers to Sick The Magazine!

As we have increased the quality and features in the streaming coverage of Sick Week and Sick Summer with FRDM+, print subscribers get free access to watch those events each year! All the on-track action, pit and staging lane interviews, even the checkpoint visits; Freedom-Plus covers them all for Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive and Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks!

By subscribing to Sick The Magazine, you also support the drag and drive community. Your support allows Sick to reach out to more photographers and writers, and results in more coverage in the pages of the magazine.

If all this hasn’t moved you to become a subscriber to Sick The Magazine, you need to check your pulse! Or better yet, CLICK HERE to get our next issue, which is fresh from the printer and going out to mailboxes around the world now!
