Registration Edelbrock Sick Smokies Registration Opens on March 22nd, 2025 – Tracks Revealed, We’re Featuring a Ton of Gassers, and Junior Street / Motorcycles You Are Invited!
The drag and drive season is underway, and with Sick The Magazine’s Sick Week, Sick Summer, and Sick Michigan Miles events in place and sold out, we turn our attention to our fourth drag and drive of the 2025 season.
Our second ‘one-off’ event - Edelbrock Sick Smokies – will take a group of competitors, as well as Sick Ward participants, through Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee on an eighth-mile drag and drive adventure. From Broadway in Nashville, to the Tail of The Dragon, it's going to be a blast!

“Having a different drag and drive event each year gives the Sick The Magazine slogan ‘For The Adventure’ a different meaning,” said Tom Bailey of Sick The Mag. “I appreciate each and every participant, and for our Sick Week and Sick Summer events, they work great in their current form. Why would I change them? But some participants want more.”
“They want to travel different roads, see different tracks, to make the experience about the adventure, the memories, and say I was part of a one-time deal. We answered that call with Death Week in 2023 and continue it in 2025 with Sick Michigan Miles and Sick Smokies.”
Registration for this eighth-mile event opens Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, with Expression of Interest competitor spots going on sale at 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. General registration will start at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Advance registration will be available to competitors that participated in either our Death Week or Sick 66 events, starting February 21st, 2025. We will be featuring one of the largest showing of Gassers at Edelbrock Sick Smokies, and this event will also bring Junior Street and Motorcycles to the mix!
Express of Interest forms are available now on our website: CLICK HERE to fill one out! Gasser owners, we will be granting advance registration based on expression of interest forms.
Edelbrock Sick Smokies will start on Sunday, October 12th at the recently revamped Rocket City Dragway in Harvest, Alabama, just south of the Tennessee state line. We will cover Day Zero registration and tech-in, as well as Day One activities on Monday, October 13th at this historic facility, before heading north into Tennessee for Day Two.
Tuesday, October 14th and Day Two brings Sick Smokies to the north central part of Tennessee and the city of Goodlettsville, the home of Music City Raceway. Originally opened in 1958, Music City Raceway has hosted a ton of different events, and Edelbrock Sick Smokies should add to the track’s rich history.
We will stay in Tennessee for Day Three, heading east from Music City Raceway for a couple of hours to the new Fitzgerald Motorsports Park. Previously operating at Crossville Dragway since 1978, the track’s lease was taken over by Hunter Blake Fitzgerald, the owner of Fitzgerald Performance. Click here to read our story about the track, and Fitzgerald’s planned changes.
Day Four will continue Edelbrock Sick Smokies in a northeast direction to visit Knoxville Dragway, on Thursday, October 16th. Hosting everything from no prep to bracket and outlaw races, Knoxville Dragway will be our third track in the volunteer state for the week.
Friday, October 17th will be a drive day for Sick Smokies. We are working on particulars for the drive, so stay tuned to our social media pages, as well as the Sick Smokies event page, for updates.
Our lone visit to the Peach state of Georgia brings us to Brainerd Motorsports Park in Ringgold for Saturday, October 18th. The all-concrete eighth-mile track has hosted a wide variety of events, from no prep to Gasser-specific races, so it’ll fit right in with our featured Gasser vibe.
We’ll wrap up Edelbrock Sick Smokies where it all started at Rocket City Dragway back in Alabama on Sunday, October 19th. Awards will be presented after a day of racing action.
Once our route is finalized, we will publish the routes in advance, and we will take you to some of the coolest places for checkpoints. This southern-based trio of states will bring a lot of cool views and scenic drives, so we will take a little time to finalize everything!
If you want to participate in Edelbrock Sick Smokies, but don’t want to compete at the track, the Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented by PEAK Performance is just your speed! Offering a full discounted ticket for all eight days, Sick Ward also allows a select number of entrants into the track with their vehicles for the Sick Spit Show N Shine!
