Registration for Sick Michigan Miles, Presented by Driven Racing Oil, Opens This Saturday, February 15th, 2025!

After the success of the Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive in 2022, Tom Bailey came up with the idea of keeping a consistent drag and drive event each year, as well as a new and unique one.

Following in the footsteps of our Edelbrock Sick 66 event in 2024, Sick the Magazine will host a pair of ‘one-off’ events, the first being in our home state with Sick Michigan Miles Presented by Driven Racing Oil, August 10th through August 17th, 2025!

We’re down to five days remaining - you can win a cool collectible car that’s perfect for cruising - this ‘69 Camaro Indy Pace car! Grab your entries by purchasing ANY of our merchandise (every $1 spent gets you an entry), or subscribing to our print version of Sick the Magazine. “When the idea was first proposed, I started thinking about how nice the areas around northern Michigan are,” said Tom Bailey of Sick The Mag. “The more Luke Nieuwhof (Sick The Mag editor) and I discussed it, it made sense that we could visit four great tracks, incorporate an August tradition for automotive enthusiasts, and do a 1,000 mile road trip in one week’s time.”

Registration for this event opens this Saturday, February 15th, 2025, with expression of interest competitor spots going on sale at 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Sick the Mag drag and drive events traditionally sell out in less than an hour, but in the case there are spots remaining one hour after the advance registration period has opened, general registration will start at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Expression of Interest forms will close on Thursday, February 13th, 2025. Fill out a form by visiting our event page HERE!

Sick Michigan Miles Presented by Driven Racing Oil will start on Sunday, August 10th in the southeast corner of the state for Day Zero activities at Milan Dragway. The track has gone through a lot of updates, as well as adding in some new features, plus the right lane features the ‘Sick the Magazine Scoreboard.’ We’ll officially start competition on Day One on Monday, August 11th, before leaving Milan and heading for our next destination.

Day Two will take us northwest through the state to Stanton, Michigan and Mid-Michigan Motorplex. Originally opening in 1955 as Central Michigan Dragway, the track’s name was changed in 1993 by the Ledford family, who still own and run the track today.

The northwest trek will continue for Day Three, as Sick Michigan Miles will land less than ten miles from the coast of Lake Michigan at The Northern Michigan Dragway. The brainchild of Tom and Jim Ledford on their mother’s property in 1970, this eighth-mile track lies just outside Kaleva in Bear Lake, Michigan.

The fourth day of the week will be a drive day, as we navigate Michigan roads eastward toward our Day Five stop for Friday, August 15th, The Ubly Dragway. With over 60 years since its start, Ubly Dragway in Ubly put us less than 20 miles from Lake Huron on the east side of Michigan.

Saturday dawns one of the greatest automotive traditions in the United States, the Woodward Dream Cruise. Attracting thousands of cars and trucks to Woodward Avenue, it’s estimated that nearly one million fans and enthusiasts will celebrate the thirteenth anniversary of Woodward Dream Cruise, and mark the first time it will be part of a drag-and-drive event!

We’ll wrap up Sick Michigan Miles where it all started at Milan Dragway on Sunday, August 17th. Awards will be presented after a day of racing action.

Once our route is finalized, we will publish the routes in advance, and we will take you to some of the coolest places for checkpoints. Michigan has a lot to offer, and we’re excited to share a lot of it during this event!

If you want to participate, but don’t want to compete at the tracks, the Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented by PEAK Performance is just your speed! Offering a full discounted ticket for all six days, Sick Ward also allows a select number of entrants into the track with their vehicles for the Sick Spit Show N Shine!
