For The Adventure – Participant Stories from The Road

Although the first drag-and-drive event was held in 2005 at the first Hot Rod Drag Week, the roots of quick cars and trucks that can also survive on the starts can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s when people were modifying cars and trucks literally right after purchase.

A lot of these cars never saw race tracks, and as such, could exist only in stories told at the local drive-in or at street race spots.

The print magazine of the drag-and-drive scene is Sick The Magazine! Over 200 pages of event coverage, features & more in every issue! Click to subscribe - don’t miss a single copy!

With the drag-and-drive community growing over the past decade by not only the number of events, but also the participants, Sick the Magazine has increased our coverage by print, website and social media to give those members of the community a voice, showing off their hard work to be a part of these events we all enjoy so much.

We never could have guessed when the magazine debuted about three years ago that it would turn into what it has.

Personally, I’ve been watching a lot of drag-and-drive media over the last ten years, and even more so in the last two. As an enthusiast and racer, I welcome and cherish the opportunity to share your stories.

Whether it’s on the mic at a Sick event, to cranking out content for the web and an article or two for each issue of the magazine, I appreciate your passion, hard work and dedication to the drag-and-drive life we all enjoy!

How You Can Get Your Story Shared

With as much as Sick the Magazine has grown, we are looking to expand our coverage even more in 2024! What can you do to help? Tell us your story!

We’re looking for you to contribute to the Sickness with stories, articles, event coverage, and more! You don’t need writing experience, just a desire to share your stories.

It can be about a build you’re doing in your garage or driveway, your experience on a drag-and-drive (from a participant or cruiser perspective), or even an article about your plans to participate in a drag-and-drive.

Interested? Send your submissions to info@sickthemagazine.com and check your e-mails and spam folders. We might select your story, and will send you a follow up before it gets used!

We will publish one story each week on the Sick the Magazine website on Thursdays! We can’t read your stories until you submit them, so get on it!
