Despite Engine Setback, Bart Corlieto Still Looking Forward to First Drag-and-Drive Event

Bart Corlieto plans to attend his first drag-and-drive event next month at the 2023 Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, with a 2006 Mustang that was once used for drag radial racing.

Decked out in white and sporting a Cobra Jet theme, Bart will attend Sick Week without the planned powerplant in the engine bay.

“We just broke our small block Ford F-2 ProCharger engine,” he said.

Instead, he will press a 430 cubic inch Bennett Racing small block Ford between the fenders, and despite having to run naturally aspirated, Bart is looking forward to the event.

“The event looks like it is very family oriented,” he said. “And Sick Ward is really cool too.”

Bart hopes to merely complete the event in his first attempt, and will take longtime friend John Trotta along. “We have been racing together for about 30 years,” Bart said. “This was his idea, apparently for me to spend my retirement money.”
