Betting on Drag-and-Drive, the ‘Pimp Money’ Mustang Will Switch from No Prep to the Prepped Side for an Appearance At Sick Summer
The no prep scene has nearly mirrored the drag-and-drive scene in expansion to more events and new locations around the country.
And while there are competitors like Jeff Lutz that started in drag-and-drive before making the switch to no prep, we are starting to see more no prep cars being converted or adapted for drag-and-drive use.

This 1990 Ford Mustang previous competed in no prep races around the state of Illinois mostly. But now, Michael McMahon Jr. is steering the pony known as ‘Pimp Money’ towards a drag-and-drive debut at this year’s Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks.
“My oldest son Michael McMahon III wanted to do a drag-and-drive,” said Michael Jr. “And I have too. And he loves baseball, so what better one to do than Sick Summer that goes past the Field of Dreams!”
To do battle, the green Mustang will rely on a built 5.3-liter LS with a VS Racing 94-millimeter single turbo that feeds a Shearer fab air to water upper intake cooler. T-Unit Fab was tasked with the turbo kit work.
A Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission back it up, and a narrowed Tin Soldiers-built rear end will replace the factory one, with minitubs and Merillat torque boxes being welded up thanks to Meanface Fab.
“This being my first one, I know it will be a true test of car, driver, and crew,” Michael Jr. said. “But we have the determination to complete it and do well!”
