This week I want to pay tribute to a group of people who make my job as a drag-and-drive videographer easier: my favorite interviewees. My beloved muses. My pet victims.

At Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes in 2023, Eddie Ensor lowered not only the naturally aspirated average to a staggering 7.53, but also the single run record to a 7.46 at 184.61 mph. Could he improve on those numbers in 2024?

68 cars and trucks signed up, and a chance of rain hung overhead on sign up day, but the weather would look reasonably sunny. But as participants left to head to the next destination, reports of a tornado were getting passed around. Thankfully, no participants had issues and made the trek safely.

I’m ready to be spending more time enjoying the car; the challenge of a drag-and-drive, and hanging out with like minded folks.

One time I picked the wrong time to stick a camera in Tom Bailey’s face. It was at Sick Week 2023. Bradenton. Day two. Around 3:12pm. Racing was winding down for the day and the Sick Seconds 2.0 Camaro was having all kinds of problems. Tom was in the pits getting ready to make a last-ditch lick. He was perched on a tire, putting on a pair of those little race booties that the fast guys wear, and there was trouble on his mind.

Sick the Mag previously reported on the possibility that Pueblo Motorsports Park would likely delay the start of its 2024 drag racing season, due to areas of the track’s surface needing repairs. However, it seems some possible good news has arrived sooner than expected, and the 2024 drag racing season could still happen.

“I could feel in the car on that run, it was a drastic change. It was one of the best feelings of my life.”

“I think it showed the maximum of what we can accomplish on this turbo. There might be a little left, but we hung it out pretty good.”

Created by ‘DragDriveRepeat’ host Michael Narx, The Circuit is the sixth drag-and-drive event held in a still early 2024 season that continues to gain momentum for the growing segment of automotive enthusiasts.

In January this year, Mike Finnegan released a video on his YouTube channel, Finnegan’s Garage, on the build of a LS-based 400 cubic inch engine from ACE Racing Engines for big power numbers and a ‘mystery project car.’

Pueblo Motorsports Park, which has seen use for multiple big events, including Rocky Mountain Race Week, put out a statement earlier this afternoon regarding the state of the drag racing schedule for 2024.

“It’s funny to think about this car starting at Pump Gas Drags with twin superchargers and an FE big block. Now it’s all-motor time.”
