Featuring 10 classes and north of $35,000 of payouts, The Reunion at Bradenton Motorsports Park (BMP) in Florida took place on April 19th and 20th, with some impressive results!

“I got hooked on drag-and-drives. It's all about driving your stuff. Cars are meant to be used, not idle.”

“The biggest challenge (with a drag-and-drive) is accepting the reality that you may not do as good as you wanted to, and refraining from making stupid tune up decisions so you can make a clean pass and get on the road.”

“We were pretty happy with the last pass. Our previous best 330 foot time with the old Corvette was about eigat hundredths quicker, so to be within striking distance of it after just a handful of runs on the new car is encouraging.”

A single day drag-and-drive event, all pre-registered rides would meet at the Galleria Mall and take an hour drive to Silver Dollar Motorsports Park in Reynolds, Georgia for competition in four classes.

“It was such an awesome opportunity to be at the reopening of Route 66 Dragway last year. We are coming back with a group of great racers, and we have our sights set on showing all the fans what our street cars can do.”

The 2009 Cadillac CTS-V of Chris Conway established the new record mark for an Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) equipped Caddy with a 7.15 pass one week ago, but Conway wanted more.

“The drives are amazing, the people are awesome, every hotel ends up being a car show, and the new tracks are really my favorite part.”

“The original appeal (of a drag-and-drive) was really just the challenge, and it still is no question. But after competing in two now, I really just love the people and friendships you make along the way. We also get to stop at some pretty cool places that I otherwise probably would've never visited.”

Rock Falls Block Party, remember the name. It was only announced last week but I can already sense that this event within the event will become a Sick Summer tradition that’ll run long into the future. Why? Because we’ve been workshopping this idea for years and it’s too good to fail.

Justin Harvey admitted the amount of street racing around the area had gotten to such a peak, that either a street permit to do something, or building a race track were the likely solutions.

“Edelbrock Sick 66 sounds like an epic experience. I have a couple friends that are going to follow along in Sick Ward, so it’ll be a great time.”

So your buddy just called and said, “I’ve got a race car, I’ve got a week off work and I’ve got a passenger seat.” Sounds like you just got roped into a drag-and-drive! He might have even convinced you to pay for half the hotel bill…but you’d better take him or her up on the offer because co-piloting for a drag-and-drive event could be some of the best damn automotive fun you’ve ever had.

“I had wanted for some years to do a drag-and-drive. The first Sick Week, being close to home, really sparked a desire. So when this Chevelle was offered to me, I decided to do Sick Week 2024 with it.”
