At Sick The Magazine, we started with a concept – build a print magazine that raises the bar on the growing drag-and-drive community. Sick The Magazine was born in 2021.
Then it grew into events - Sick Week and Sick Powerfest both getting their start in 2022. Sick Summer and Death Week were added for 2023, and that year also triggered the start to vehicle giveaways!
Flashback to Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive in 2023, and the announcement of our first giveaway vehicle, an Edelbrock supercharged Chevrolet Tahoe featuring a special Sick the Mag wrap. Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes just fourth months saw the debut of a Gasser-themed project 1957 Chevy station wagon in competition. We even transported it to Arizona for the winner, who did a portion of our Death Week event.
2024 has been epic as well; as we’ve done three vehicle giveaways. It started with the Harley Davidson lettered 1973 Chevrolet dually pick-up, followed by an ultra-clean Pontiac Fiero.
Just recently, we dropped the news on the new owner of the unique right-hand-drive Ute! But we’re not even close to done for the year, and news leaked earlier today on our next vehicle giveaway: this 1962 Chevy II Gasser!
Could this be our best giveaway yet? Here’s a couple things we do know: this car has attended and completed several drag-and-drive events, including Hot Rod Drag Week, as well as Death Week. It’s capable of 9-second time slips!
