Want to Join Us for the Upcoming Edelbrock Sick 66 Event? The Sick BBQ / Ice Cream Truck Needs a Co-Pilot to Navigate Route 66 in October!

It’s been a common sight at not only Sick the Magazine events, but also on Hot Rod Drag Week as well: the Sick BBQ / Ice Cream truck.

The unique ride was usually piloted by Tom Bailey or a member of the Sick the Mag staff, but this year we’ve opened the gates for guests to jump onboard. With the upcoming Edelbrock Sick 66 event just a couple weeks away, the passenger seat of the Sick BBQ / Ice Cream truck is open for someone to join us for Sick 66!

It’s a once in-a-lifetime drag-and-drive event: Edelbrock Sick 66, October 10th-18th, 2024. Route 66, 6 different race tracks, over 30 checkpoints. Don’t miss your chance to join us as part of Sick Ward - CLICK HERE for more information.

Converted by 417 Motorsports for its current duties, the Sick BBQ / Ice Cream truck features an air ride suspension, hot dog rollers, and massive amounts of cooler space. The truck joins our events to distribute massive amounts of food and water throughout the week to race participants.

It has become infamous for the breakfast sandwiches that turn into ice cream in the afternoon, and only the best Sick BBQ sauce and wieners await the hungry racers for lunch times.

For 2024, Tom Bailey encouraged applications to drive and handles the duties of the Sick BBQ / Ice Cream truck, and the Steinke family answered that call for Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, and the mother-daughter team of Leticia and Abbey Hughes handled the job at Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks.

For our upcoming Edelbrock Sick 66 event, which starts on October 10th at Ozark Raceway Park in Missouri, the tour will travel mostly along Route 66 for eight days, ending in New Mexico at Alien City Dragway. The man behind Sick BBQ sauces and spice, Rich Pedraza, will pilot the truck. But he needs a travel buddy to help with food and water duties during the event.

Think you’re up for the challenge? If so - Send us an e-mail: info@sickthemagazine.com

Include your name and contact information (phone number and e-mail), and why you think you’re a good fit for Sick BBQ / Ice Cream truck duty!
