Supporting Your Local Track – Sick the Magazine Sponsors a Lane at Milan Dragway in Michigan

At Sick the Magazine, we talk about doing drag-and-drive events for the adventures. Without race tracks in operation, we couldn’t enjoy the racing action and the memories that comes from it.

The last few years have brought the news of closing race tracks, usually for the land to be used as something else, and thousands of enthusiasts may be forced to travel additional hours and miles to find another track to support.

We should all do our part to keep race tracks open and thriving! Let others know where you stand with Sick The Magazine’s ‘Support Your Local Track’ shirt! Click here to see our full line-up of merchandise!

Just over an hour away from Sick the Magazine’s home base in Waterford Township, Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan is a track that has written a ton of history for multiple series since it got its start in 1963.

It has also survived being shut down a couple times, including the entire 2021 season. However, the track has prospered with new owners taking the reins in December of 2021, and picking up National Hot Rod Association sanctioning in 2022.

Tom Bailey has tested and raced at the track a bunch, and wanted to do more to support a local track. It was recently announced in 2024, Sick the Magazine will adorn one of the two scoreboards in sponsoring the track.

“We want to give back to the sport and the tracks that have created some amazing memories for us,” said Tom. “They work tirelessly for us to enjoy the sport we love, and this is our chance to help a little.”
