The first drag-and-drive of 2025, Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, is just days away! Combine winter temps with great tracks (and traction), and you get a truly awesome experience! Now, for the EXPANDED details:

Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive starts on Monday, January 27th, 2025, and will travel from our starting point, South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP) through Florida for the week, before returning to SGMP for the final day, Saturday, February 1st, 2025.

Monday, January 27th, 2025, at SGMP starts with Day Zero activities – registration for BOTH competitors and Sick Ward participants, as well as tech, and a test and tune session for competitors. Racer gates open at 7 am, tech inspections begin at 8 am, and Sick Ward can start checking in at 9 am.

Competitors MUST BE IN TECH LINE BY 1 pm, or risk disqualification. Please review / fill out your racer packet forms we’ve e-mailed you, and have your documents, as well as your safety gear, with you when you get in line for tech.

Spectator gates open at 9 am, and spectators are welcome to come out early, visit the pit areas and check out cars going through the tech inspection process. Plus, we’ll have numerous vendors that will be on site, including Gear Vendors Overdrive, Holley, Driven Racing Oil, and more!

Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels will be joining us with a trailer full of tires, Summit Racing Equipment will be in attendance with a truckload of spares and a dedicated line to get parts overnighted if needed, and VP Racing brings a semi-truck loaded with the best racing fuels in the business.

The vendors will be traveling the route all week with us, and don’t forget to visit the Sick The Magazine merch trailer, which will have exclusive Sick Week goodies (including shirts, banners, hats and hoodies, plus the coveted straw hats we only sell on site at events). PLUS, every dollar you spend gets you an entry into our ’69 Camaro Pace Car Giveaway; CLICK HERE for more details!

The test and tune session for Monday, January 27th, will begin once the tech inspection is complete, and we’re expecting it to run from 2-6 pm. BONUS: for the C group (10.00 – 11.49 e.t.) and D group (11.50 and slower e.t.), we’re making your session an official first session that can count for your Tuesday Day One participation time slip!

Although we rotate the groups for a different starting group each and every day during the week, C’ and ‘D’ groups run last on the first day. With the new ‘bonus session’ if you get the run / time slip you want on Day Zero, you can turn that slip in on Day One after the driver meeting is complete! No need to wait!

After the test session is complete on Monday, stick around! Delta PAG will provide a pizza party for competitors, crew and Sick Ward in the pits, starting around 6 pm.

For Day One, Tuesday, January 28th at SGMP, racer gates will open at 7 am, while spectator gates swing open at 8 am. Following a driver’s meeting, racing is scheduled to begin at 9 am and should go until 3 pm (subject to change based on delays).

Once a competitor makes the run they want, whether that comes after one pass, or more than one, that desired time slip must be taken to Tonya Turk and crew for logging. Then, a competitor is tasked to make whatever changes are needed to hit the road, and your next task is to complete the route from track to the track. You must follow the route we designate, whether by paper map direction, or using the Ride With GPS app.

Vehicles and competitors are welcome to leave the track whenever they want, but to stay in competition, you must turn one of your time slips at each track, and stay on the course. We encourage enthusiasts to join us anywhere along the route and watch as close to 350 competitors and another 250 Sick Ward participants motor to the next checkpoint, or the next track.

To conclude Day One activities is a 320 mile trip from SGMP to Bradenton, Florida, the home of Bradenton Motorsports Park. Along the way, we will stop at our only checkpoint of the day, Lead Foot City in Brooksville, Florida, to allow both competitors and enthusiasts to check the recently completed eighth-mile drag strip.

On Day Two, Wednesday, January 29th, Sick Week will host racing action at Bradenton Motorsports Park for our first day of racing in Florida. Gate times of 7 am for racers and 8 am for spectators will remain the same, as will the racing action times, scheduled to start at 9 am and conclude at 3 pm.

Once racing action is wrapped up for the day, we’ll head northeast for a 218 mile trip, with the ultimate destination of Orlando Speed World Dragway. But before we get there, a pair of checkpoints are on our list. The first is Charlotte Webb’s Pub, then we’ll head to the east coast of Florida and Larsen Motorsports, where the team will roll out a jet dragster for some flame-throwing action! Food trucks and tours of Larsen’s facility are also in the plans.

Thursday, January 30th, Day Three, will find us at Orlando Speed World Dragway, central Florida’s home for drag racing. Not to sound like a broken record, but activity times will remain the same as days one and two: 7 am for racers, 8 am for spectators, racing from 9 am until 3 pm.

We will continue our trek north along the coast after racing action on day three to cover 179 miles of street proving. Along the way we’ll stop at two checkpoints: the famous Aunt Catfish’s On the River, a Daytona Beach waterside restaurant and bar staple.

If ice cream is more your speed, our second checkpoint should be in your wheelhouse: Hoot Owl Farmhouse Ice Cream, the only checkpoint to be included in each Sick Week event.

Gainesville Raceway is not far from there to complete your day’s drive, but consider visiting an additional checkpoint (non-mandatory, but fun): KSR Performance and Fabrication, who will again host an open house, as well as offer services to competitors in need.

Friday normally signals the end of Sick Week, but for 2025, it will be Day Four at Gainesville Raceway. The home of the National Hot Rod Association’s Gatornationals national event, and the track where the first 300 mph quarter-mile drag racing pass was produced, Gainesville will give competitors, Sick Warders and spectators a few extra hours of rest. Gates times move to 9 am opening for racers and 10 am for spectators, with on-track action set to start at 11 am and go until 5 pm.

The final drive of Sick Week is the shortest one at 127 miles, and with a return to Georgia and SGMP as the final goal, our lone checkpoint of the day is Halpatter Brewing. Things get kicked up a notch with live music and street closures from the city, making this final checkpoint a little bit more fun to conclude the cruising.

Day Five we’re back in Georgia at SGMP, with gates times mimicking Gainesville’s: 9 am opening for racers and 10 am for spectators, and the final day of racing to start on track at 11 am and go until 5 pm. Award ceremonies for class winners, as well as our top three overall, will take place following racing action.

Spectators can join Sick Week on any of the six days for $30 per person for an advance online ticket, or $35 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free. Advance tickets are AVAILABLE HERE.

For 2025, SGMP and Sick got together to provide two additional days of testing on Saturday January 25th, and Sunday January 26th. Gates open at 8 am each day, and testing will take place from 12 Noon to 6 pm.

Spectators – you are welcome to come out Saturday, January 25th, and Sunday, January 26th to watch the testing action; spectators are $20 per person per day. Sick Week competitors – the SGMP track gates will remain open for you until 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday for those wanting to come in and set up for the next day; bring your Foat receipt with the QR code for complementary entry. The track will have VP Racing fuel onsite, as well as showers and complementary camping onsite.

If you can’t join us, don’t forget that Days 1-5 will be live streamed by FRDM+, and all Sick The Magazine print subscribers get to watch it for FREE! Codes will be e-mailed to subscribers a few days before the event. You can subscribe to FRDM+ by CLICKING HERE!
