Sick At The Rock Introduces Sick Street Car Challenge Class – April 10-12th, 2025 at Rockingham Dragway, North Carolina – Joins Pro Mod, 5 Additional Classes and Over $50,000 in Payouts

The inaugural Sick At The Rock event will bring a party atmosphere, and hundreds of America’s quickest real street cars, to Rockingham Dragway on April 10-12th, 2025.

The newest class to Sick At The Rock, the Sick Street Car Challenge, will battle it out alongside the wild Rockingham Big Dog Pro Mods, with classes inspired by the former National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) and National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) series: Street Race 8.60, Small Tire Pro Stock, Nostalgia Super Stock – Nostalgia Muscle Car Combo, Coyote Stock and Open Comp.

The Detroit AutoRama, home to hundreds of amazing rides, including hot rods, muscle cars, truck and motorcycles, will include a large display from Sick The Magazine of drag and drive rides! The event starts on Friday February 28th, 2025, and runs through Sunday March 2nd, 2025. For more information on the event, CLICK HERE!

Sick The Magazine is launching a brand-new class at Sick At The Rock: the Sick Street Car Challenge! It will employ a two-day drag and drive format (Friday April 11th and Saturday April 12th) and use an eighth-mile distance. Street legal machines will be able to shoot for over $30,000 in prize money across over two-dozen categories, with the ability to stack more than one category for huge payouts!

Here’s how it will work: each competitor will be required to hand in a total of three time slips to make up their average for the two days, with a minimum of one time slip from each day. The cruise route will be revealed to racers after their first run is handed in, and they must complete the route before racing begins on Saturday.

There are 32 categories available, from manufacturer awards such as Quickest Chevy and Quickest Ford, to engine types like Quickest Diesel and even Quickest Rotary, even Most Consistent and Best Street Race Average (5.35 or slower). Each class carries a $1000 prize, and racers are eligible for any award they qualify for. Got the nastiest Dodge that’s also the quickest stick shift, spraying nitrous on a 235 tire? You could walk away with $4000 right there! A full list of the categories is available at the event page at sickthemagazine.com – CLICK HERE!

As the drag and drive racers complete their Friday and get onto the cruise route, the Rockingham Big Dog Pro Mods will hit the track for a thrilling show under the lights. Covering the eighth-mile in 3.6 seconds at over 200 mph, fans will be able to enjoy the party atmosphere and enjoy seeing these incredible machines for three rounds of eliminations alongside the drag and drive chaos!

Joining the program will be five more classes inspired by the former NMCA/NMRA series: Street Race 8.60, Small Tire Pro Stock, Nostalgia Super Stock – Nostalgia Muscle Car Combo, Coyote Stock and Open Comp, and they will be on the track for both Friday and Saturday.

Based on a 3-day format, Thursday April 10th, 2025 will be a test day. Thursday testing will be available from 12 noon to 6 pm for $100 per car. Friday April 11th, 2025 will be qualifying, as well as the first two sessions for our Sick Street Car Challenge class, and the Big Dog Pro Mods class. Saturday, April 12th, 2025 will be the second two sessions for the Sick Street Car Challenge class, as well as eliminations for the other five scheduled classes.
