Sick At The Rock is Coming Up – April 10-12th, 2025 at Rockingham Dragway, North Carolina – 15 Racing Classes and Over $100,000 in Payouts
After three seasons of hosting successful drag and drive events, Sick The Magazine expanded into stand alone events in 2025 with Sick At The Rock and Sick On The Green.
Both events will feature 15 different classes of racing, plus over $100,000 of guaranteed payout.
Our opening NMCA / NMRA style event is less than 2 months away - Sick At The Rock at the legendary Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina on April 10th through 12th, 2025! 15 classes, including the Big Dogs Pro Mod class, will be held at the 3-day event. Tom Bailey looked at the news of the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) and National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) closing their doors in October 2024, as well as his experience, and saw an opportunity to give back to the community. “With the announcement of the NMCA/NMRA, I couldn’t help but think that there were thousands of racers that had planned on racing that series in 2025,” said Tom.
After speaking to several tracks and racers, as well as balancing it against costs and payouts, Sick The Magazine announced we will be hosting a pair of events in 2025: Sick At The Rock, April 10th through April 12th, 2025 at Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina, and Sick On The Green, May 29th through 31st, 2025 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky. “If all goes well, we will add more events for 2026,” said Tom. “We will be concentrating on these two for the time being.”
Building on popular NMCA and NMRA event class structure, as well as a few popular classes from street-car type events, the announcement was made at the Performance and Racing Industry (PRI) show in December 2024 about classes and asking for racer support. “We want to be a race by racers and for racers,” said Tom. “When we settle on a prospective class, we will then ask you to put your money where your mouth is and support the class. If a class doesn't draw an acceptable turnout, we will consider canceling it and issuing a full refund to those that purchased a tech card.”
Based on a 3-day format, the Thursday of each event will be a test day, Fridays will be qualifying, and Saturdays will be eliminations. “This will not be a business hours race; We will use the whole day, start early and race under the lights at night,” said Tom. “Whatever it takes to get through the classes and put on an event that both racers and fans will enjoy.”
The first of the two events, Sick At The Rock, takes place at the legendary Rockingham Dragway on April 10th-12th, 2025. Street machines and race cars will come together for an action-packed three days of racing and fun, with up to fifteen different classes of cars, including the 3,000+ horsepower Big Dog Pro Mod class!
