Getting Sick FOMO? Michigan Miles Registration Opens February 15, Sick Smokies Opens March 22
Testing has begun for Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive, with high anticipation of a spectacular drag-and-drive event to come.
Exciting new cars and nervous new racers are waiting for the Super Bowl of Drag-and-Drive to begin, as are fans around the world and everyone on the FRDM+ live stream.
While Florida and Georgia are the hot ticket right now, Sick has big plans for its home state of Michigan when Sick Michigan Miles Presented By Driven Racing Oil launches in August. This eighth-mile event, in the spirit of Edelbrock Sick 66 and Death Week, will take racers around the beautiful coast of Michigan and into the incredible Woodward Dream Cruise.
The event begins with tech and testing on August 10 at Milan Dragway, before day one of competition at Milan on August 11, day two at Mid-Michigan Dragway on August 12, day three at Northern Michigan Dragway on August 13, a drive day on August 14, day four at Ubly Dragway on August 15, the Woodward Dream Cruise on August 16 and the final day at Milan Dragway on August 17.
Entries for racers will open on February 15. Anyone interested in being a part of this one-off event needs to get on the expression of interest form on the event page to join the thousands of people who have already indicated their excitement.
Sick The Magazine publisher and event promoter Tom Bailey said he’s keen to showcase his home state.
“A lot of people don’t understand just how nice Michigan is,” he said. “We’ve got 3000-plus miles of coastline, some awesome drag strips and a significant car culture. Being able to cruise around the state and then roll into the Woodward Dream Cruise, where tens of thousands of cars line Woodward Avenue, is bucket list stuff.”
The drag-and-drive action for the year ahead keeps ramping up with Sick Smokies to rock the southeast from October 12-19. Registration for this event opens on March 22, and like Sick Michigan Miles, the expression of interest form is now open. Anyone with a gasser should also keep an eye out for early entry opportunities.
“Sick Smokies is going to be really special, both with the spectacular mountain scenery and the fact that we have 100 gassers who have told us they want to be there,” Bailey said. “It’s going to be an adventure like no other.”
