Eric Dillard Unloads a 5.40 at 269 mph Quarter-Mile Blast in Pro Mod Testing at the US Street Nationals

While most of the country sits in a winter season that won’t allow for testing unless you’re using a snowmobile, Florida is officially kicking off the 2023 racing season at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

Several days of private testing at the track lead into the US Street Nationals, taking place Friday January 26th through Sunday January 29th.

With sub-sea-level density altitude and near-perfect conditions, lots of great runs have been put down the recently re-vamped Bradenton Motorsports Park surface.

One car that has had eyes on it since it rolled out of the trailer this week is the Q80 ’69 Camaro Pro Mod, part of the El General / Scott Tidwell Motorsports camp, piloted by Eric Dillard.

In Thursday testing, Eric cracked off a 5.412 at 267.96 mph, becoming the third-quickest driver in the history of door-car drag racing!

In Friday testing, Eric lowered the boom a bit more, scorching the BMP surface for a 5.404 at 269.56, strengthening his grip on the third-quickest run, and also becoming the quickest blown door-car in history.

The incrementals include a .929 to the 60-foot clocks, and a 3.583 at 213.91 mph in the 1/8-mile. The Camaro sports a Pro Line Racing HEMI engine, a ProCharger, and weighs in at 2600 pounds.
