Drag-and-Drive Competitors Score Class Wins at No Prep 8 Event at Central Alberta Raceways

Just one day after the completion of Miles of Mayhem drag-and-drive event, Central Alberta Raceways traded their prepped track used on day four of Miles of Mayhem for a no-prep surface to host the No Prep 8 event on Saturday.

Although there can be a huge difference in the approach and set-up of a prepped track to a non-prep surface, a few drag-and-drive competitors took the plunge and rolled to Central Alberta Raceways for their shot at a class win.

Sheldon Root jumped into the Gangsta class with his unique 1962 Pontiac Acadian, a car that finished second earlier this year at Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive in the Rowdy Radial class with consistent 4-second passes at each stop.

Sheldon traded the small radial tires for a slick tire to tackle the no prep surface, and made it through the rounds to get a win in the Gansta class and the big check that goes with it.

Joining Sheldon on the winning side of things is stick-shift driver Chris Hein and his 1933 Factory Five coupe.

The twin-turbocharged LS-powered hot rod entered the Man Pedal class, and Chris not only took the final round win, but posted a new personal best pass in route to picking up the large-by-huge check.
