After Participating in His First Drag-and-Drive in 2022, Amos Eason Will Compete in His Second Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks in 2024

After years of running test and tunes and bracket races, Amos Eason took the plunge into the drag-and-drive world by participating in his first drag-and-drive event at the One Guy’s Garage Drag Weekend event in 2022, with one of the three tracks on the drive nestled in his home state of Iowa.

“Drove the Nova 480 miles pulling a trailer full of parts to Cordova, Byron, and Tri-State, broke a couple things, and ripped off a new personal best 10.80 in the quarter,” said Amos.

After that favorable impression, Amos decided to up the ante and participate in two drag-and-drive events in 2023, adding the first Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes to his list.

His 1974 Chevrolet Nova sports a LS swap, with a 6-liter getting a little extra motivation from the ‘throttle in a bottle’ and at Sick Summer he clocked a best pass of 11.89 on the way to an 11.95 average.

Amos also only varied in his time slips about 11 hundredths-of-a-second, earning him a top 30 finish. “The week has been an absolute blast, and I can't wait to do it again next year,” said Amos. He also made a return to the One Guy’s Garage Drag Weekend event in 2023 as well.

For 2024, Amos plans to increase his drag-and-drive event count to three, with Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks first on the docket, followed by One Guy’s Garage Drag Weekend, and finally, Amos will make the trek to participate on Sick 66. “It's a fun way to enjoy racing,” Amos said about the reason he continues to participate in drag-and-drive events. “I’m using a simple combo, and I have done the whole car myself so I know it really well.” He also updated the safety equipment in the Nova, and hopes to crack into 10-second range on Sick Summer and better his personal best times this year.
