A Spotless Front Engine Dragster Ready to be Part of Cacklefest at Sick Powerfest!
Completing the trio of nitro-burning cars we’ve featured this week is Larry Wolyniec’s front engine dragster.
Someone who has been involved in the sport of drag racing since his childhood, Larry brings a clean, black dragster to complement fellow front-engine dragster owner David Stewart, and nostalgia funny car owner Paul Brown.
The dragster sees several events each year, and is the lone Mopar-powered ride from the group, sporting a blown 392 cubic inch Hemi powerplant.
Larry brings a ton of drag racing history to the table, and not just as an enthusiast. His first car at age 15 was a funny car, and Larry was a crew member on the ‘Chi-Town Hustler’ NHRA Funny Car during its 1982 championship season with driver (and now drag racing school owner Frank Hawley) and crew chief Austin Coil.
In continuing to work with Top Fuel and Funny Car teams, including the Bill Miller Engineering team in 2006, Larry debuted the Track Meter, a device used to measure just how good a track’s surface is.
