Tracks, Entry Dates Announced for Motion Raceworks Sick Summer

Motion Raceworks Sick Summer will return to the Midwest across June 9-14 in 2024, bringing back chill summer vibes alongside the Sick brand of drag-and-drive chaos!

The inaugural event earlier this year was rated as a favorite among racers, officials, media and fans, with many asking if the event would return for 2024. Sick The Magazine publisher and drag-and-drive veteran Tom Bailey said the event has now become a permanent part of the Sick calendar.

“The atmosphere at Sick Summer was great, with fans lining the route and the racers enjoying what was a laid back yet competitive event,” he said. “We knew almost immediately after we wrapped the first Sick Summer that we’d be back. Those parts of Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa are like the heartland of drag-and-drive.”

Byron Dragway was recently announced as the host track for 2024. Racers will then head to Cordova Dragway, Tri-State Raceway and Great Lakes Dragaway before returning to Byron Dragway.

“What we are doing this year is basically a reverse of last year’s route,” Bailey explained. “We will have some new checkpoints, but also some returning favorites.

“We had great fan turnout at all of our tracks earlier this year. We learned a lot about all of the venues in 2023 and we have identified some opportunities to make sure we are providing the drag-and-drive experience expected when an event carries the Sick name.”

We are also proud to announce that Motion Raceworks have added their name to Sick Summer 2024, following TBM Brakes’ support of the 2023 event. Motion Raceworks are leaders and innovators in the drag-and-drive and high performance parts space, with a reputation for always going the extra mile for the industry. Motion Raceworks Sick Summer 2024 will once again be visiting the Motion Raceworks HQ in Dewitt, Iowa to see where the magic happens!

“Doug and Andy Cook, and the whole team at Motion Raceworks, have been great supporters of drag-and-drive,” said Bailey. “Their ‘End of the Road’ party last year was awesome and I’m sure they have something cool planned for 2024 too!”

Entries for Motion Raceworks Sick Summer will open at 10am on Saturday, December 2. Racers who have filled out the expression of interest form will get access one hour earlier at 9am, but with over 800 expressions of interest filled out so far, event interest is strong.
