The Shirts of Death Week – Exclusively Available at the Tracks During Death Week!

An epic once-in-a-lifetime drag-and-drive like Death Week has lots of cool things that bring it one step above other drag-and-drive events.

Historic tracks, amazing drive routes, cool checkpoints and places of interest. And thanks to our awesome designer Garrett, we’ll also have limited edition t-shirts for each track day of the event. The only way to get them: on site at the tracks!

Following in the footsteps of Sick Week and Sick Summer, each track day will have specific shirt tied into that date.

Since the event will start and end at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, there will be two versions of that track shirt, each available on the day we’re there!

Don’t miss the ultimate drag-and-drive: Death Week, October 20-29 2023!

To start out the track shirts, day one combines the “family hauler” theme, with Jason Sack’s new wagon build in the middle, augmented by Tom Bailey’s Dodge Durango SRT and Rajveer Ahuja’s Oldsmobile!

In the words of designer Garrett Olsen: “The first (shirt) is one of two of the track shirts from Wild Horse Pass. I used the last vehicle from Sick Summer T-shirts, which was Tom Bailey’s Durango. Front and center is Jason Sack with Burt (because who doesn't love a wagon)? Our out car is none other then Rajveer Ahuja and his 442. (The background is like a lot of the other track shirts. I try and use buildings from the track. These are my first track t-shirts that I've used a sort of frame on. I think it turned out great.”

The second track shirt highlights Barona Drag Strip, and highlights the 1972 Pontiac Lemans of Joe Turk in the center, as well as carrying some the second half of Rajveer’s Oldsmobile.

Designer Garrett Olsen gives us the background on the second track’s shirt: “We are at Barona; This was a fun one. Barona's track has a lot of character. From the rock out cropping's behind the track, the "Tower" building and even the radio shed on the hill.  Like a lot of my pervious track shirts, I have never been to these tracks.  I take my inspiration from Google, and Google maps.  Sometimes it's a bit of a challenge.  With the news of rattlers in the shutdown area, I was asked to add one.”

Now for the cars: “The better part of Rajveer’s 442 on the left, and center stage today is Joe Turk, who's making a move up from the minors (Sick Ward) to play in the big league with his Pontiac. Next is Danny Grubaugh, with his '73 Hornet fresh off of Rocky Mountain Race Week (RMRW). Have you found the Easter eggs yet? When I did the first track shirts for Sick Week 2023, the discussion came about that we needed a ‘Where's Waldo’ element. So with every track shirt there's an Easter egg. Sick Week 2023, Sick Summer 2023, and now Death Week (shirts) all have them.”

Day three moves the t-shirt tour to Famoso Dragway, and features the track’s tower, as well as an early Ford panel truck.

The details from designer Garrett Olsen: “We went with a black t-shirt because...well racers are messy, and cars have lots of different colored oils in them. You do the math. Ink colors came down to a pumpkin like orange and a darkish tan.  Trying to make for a more western feel.”

Onto the car selection: “Danny Grubaugh and Gucci. Don't ask me, that's what he calls it. Making the center spotlight today is Jason Acton and his '51 Panel. Exiting on the right is Shaun Carnahan with his SS 454 (pick-up). Once again, track buildings and some local color (Pump Jacks) for the background.”

The final track day returns the tour to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, and the center of the shirt features Alan Whitaker’s 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Designer Garrett Olsen reflects on his fourth and final track shirt design: “Drag day 4; Back to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Well, I've already used the buildings for the background so...let's explore the park. Did you know they have a drag boat lake? What about the stadium truck track? All that, and a road course too. Pretty cool.”

What about the final car selection? “Shaun Carnahan with his SS 454 (pick-up), enter stage right. Front and center is Alan Whitaker with a beautiful Monte. Who's gonna make the transition from Death Week to Sick Week 2024, well that's none other than Tom Bagguley and his Mustang. Tom Bagguley, are you gonna make Sick Week 2024?

That's in for this run, join me in January for the Sick Week 2024 Track Shirt run down!”

Each t-shirt will ‘debut’ at the featured track, and will feature a limited quantity! We sold out of every track shirt at Sick Week and Sick Summer, so make sure to get yours as soon as you get through the gates!

10 days, 2,000 miles, it could be the ultimate drag-and-drive! Spots are still available for Death Week; don’t miss your chance your chance to experience this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
