Summit Racing Equipment and PEAK Performance Combine to Supercharge the Sick Ward

Sick Week 2023 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive is coming to Florida in just two weeks, and it won't just be the participants on the quarter-mile sharing in the excitement with the news that Summit Racing Equipment and PEAK Performance will be getting behind the Sick Ward.

The Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented By PEAK Performance is an opportunity for street machiners and hot rodders to cruise alongside the racers, while getting the VIP treatment. From their own area in the pits to catered lunches and free refreshments, the Sick Warders have just about the most fun of anyone at Sick Week.

Sick The Mag Publisher Tom Bailey said the ultimate goal was to make it a hard decision for participants of Sick Week to decide whether they want to race or be in the Sick Ward.

“There are only so many entries you can get down a drag strip in a given day before the event experience is reduced, whereas with the Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented By PEAK Performance, it's the more the merrier,” he said. “A lot of the guys, girls and families we had along last year were tailgating in the pits, hanging out at check points, and generally adding to the atmosphere of the whole event. We had everything from daily drivers to full customs spend the week with us. I was almost a little bit jealous of how well they were treated.”

The Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented By PEAK Performance will also be a part of Sick Summer Presented By TBM Brakes in June, where hundreds more automotive enthusiasts will get to take part in what is being designed as the ultimate cruise-and-spectate package.

“We really want all of our Sick Warders to be active participants in the event,” Bailey said. “They bring their own flair and style and I think anyone who attends Sick Week this year should make sure they walk through the Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented By PEAK Performance and talk with the participants. We're aiming to really roll out the VIP treatment to make sure that the event experience is perfect.”

Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports and Events Manager Jim Greenleaf said they were honored to be a part of the event.

“It was incredible to be part of the inaugural year, traveling along with the racers in our support vehicle,” he said. “By the end of the event, we were already planning for Sick Week 2023! We’re once again taking The World’s Speed Shop on the road to support the racers with the best parts in performance, and the opportunity to be even more involved as a sponsor of the Sick Ward is just the icing on the cake! Tom has put together a can’t-miss drag-and-drive event and we’re excited to be part of it.”

Old World Industries (parent company of PEAK Performance) Director of Sport Marketing Brian Bohlander said it was exciting to be a part of this movement in drag racing.

“We’ve been involved at the top levels of the sport for many years but thanks to our ambassadors Alex Taylor, Emily Reeves, and Vice Grip Garage, we’re coming back to our roots to bring enthusiasts and drag racing to the everyman,” he said.

Sick Week 2023 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive will be dragging and driving through Florida from February 12 to 17. Find out more about Sick Week.
