South Georgia Motorsports Park Sold!

It has been revealed today that South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP) has changed ownership, as Ozzy and Maria Moya have sold the track to Raul and Jennifer Torres.

Raul and Jennifer Torres (left) will be taking the reins of South Georgia Motorsports Park from Ozzy and Maria Moya (right).

The Moyas, who also own Orlando Speed World Dragway, revealed that “at this time in our lives, it is the best decision for our family. SGMP deserves someone who can run to its full potential and give it the love it deserves. SGMP is in great hands, and we are excited to see all the great improvements that are planned already by the Torres'.”

For the new owners, the Torres family comes from a racing background. Raul has a storied history as an owner and driver in drag racing, and has also worked at events, including a recent no-time race at Orlando Speed World.

This should bring an interesting new chapter to SGMP, the home of several heads-up events, including Duck X Production’s Lights Out and No Mercy events, the MANCUP Drag Bike series, and a stop on the Sick Week event.

The track will get going under the Torres’ leadership this week, as the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) will host their third division two race of the 2023 season starting Thursday, March 16th.
