Sick Week 2025’s Top 100, Records and More
Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive proudly promotes itself as the Super Bowl of Drag-and-Drive, providing the best environment for the world’s quickest street-n-strip cars to strut their stuff.
The greatest racetracks, the best VP Racing Fuels track prep and the cool weather conditions all combine and the results are shown in the numbers.
The fourth edition of Sick Week told an interesting story in the statistics. Rain through the test/tech day had a lingering effect on the track into the first day of competition, where each racer only got one pass. That meant that the overall averages for Sick Week 2025 were not as quick as previous years.
Brett LaSala had the quickest average at 6.241, which was a new Sick Week record, the quickest drag-and-drive average ever on a radial tire (Mickey Thompson to the front!), and the second-quickest drag-and-drive average of all time. Only Jeff Lutz’s 6.191 in 2016 has been quicker over five days.
The top 100 drivers based on average get early entry opportunities for the following year’s Sick Week, which makes it something of a race-within-a-race among the teams. This year’s 100th spot went to Stephen Mask at a 10.496. This compares to the 100th spot for 2024’s event being a 10.209, while 2023 was anchored by a 10.323.

In the history of drag-and-drive, only 13 drivers had recorded six-second averages prior to 2025: Tom Bailey, Jeff Lutz, Bryant Goldstone, Larry Larson, Dave Schroeder, Stefan Gustafsson, Rick Prospero, Mikael Borggren, Michael Westberg, Alex Taylor, Brett LaSala, Michael Manuel and Steven Spiess. Incredibly we added five more drivers to that list at Sick Week 2025: Josh Davis, Graham Hayes, Les Smith, Steve Morris and Nick Rinehart. Glenn Hunter was unlucky not to join them with a 7.018 average!
There’s also another way to get early entry to next year, and that is with one of the top 100 single times (per driver) of Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive. And here we can see the influence that the first day had, because the rest of the event was DAMN FAST.
This year’s quickest time was Brett LaSala with his 6.079, the quickest in Sick Week history and the quickest on a radial tire in drag-and-drive history. It also ranked Brett as the second-quickest driver for a single run, second only to Tom Bailey and his famous 5.998 from Hot Rod Drag Week 2019 (he also went 6.032 at Drag Week 2022). Jeff Lutz went 6.051 in 2015 but he failed to complete the event.
As for the top 100 drivers for single quickest passes at Sick Week 2025, the 100th spot was held by Jason Pickett at a 9.184. This compared to a 9.262 in 2024, a 9.222 for 2023 and a 9.300 for 2022.
Incredibly, 13 cars ran in the sixes or quicker, 44 cars ran in the sevens or quicker and 92 cars ran in the eights or quicker!
In 2024, there were 8 cars in the sixes or quicker, 30 in the sevens or quicker and 89 in the eights or quicker.
There were also several drag-and-drive world records. We’ve already mentioned Brett LaSala’s radial effort, but perhaps the most significant achievement at Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive was Ed Ensor’s Naturally Aspirated world record average of 7.096, with a best time of 7.078. This blew his existing 7.46 average record out of the water!
One record that we didn’t find out about until after the event was Chuck Stefanski’s. His average of 7.280 was the quickest yet for a centrifugal supercharger combination in drag-and-drive.
