Sick the Magazine Announces Our Fourth Giveaway Winner - The Pontiac Fiero Finds a New Home, and a Second Chance for a Mom to Drive Her Dream Car

At the beginning of 2023, Tom Bailey announced Sick the Magazine would be doing our first-ever giveaway, an Edelbrock supercharged Chevrolet Tahoe featuring a special Sick the Mag wrap!

The Tahoe joined us for Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, as well as Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes, and it would be that event where Tom decided “the first giveaway went well; let’s do another one!”

Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks is June 9th-14th, and it’s the best way to start your summer adventures! 350 cars, 4 different race tracks, over 600 miles of street driving, lots of cool checkpoints. Click here for all the details!

The ’57 Chevrolet wagon Gasser would be the magazine’s second car awarded to a lucky winner, and the third was an equally cool (in our eyes anyways) 1973 Chevrolet Dually pick-up.

That left not only the Sick the Mag crew, but also the public at large, wondering what Tom would come up with next. But no one could’ve expected this: a Pontiac Fiero! The two-seat, 4-cylinder mid-engine time capsule of the eighties was discovered in Arizona, and Tom couldn’t pass it up.

Not only did Tom go a different direction on the Fiero acquisition; he also decided to do a shorter period to get entered, and extend the giveaway to only people that purchased tickets online to Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks before April 30th!

The lucky spectator that will join us in a couple weeks to watch Sick Summer June 9th through the 14th, but also picked up the Pontiac Fiero, is Mary from Illinois.

When Tom recently attended the Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance at Chicago’s Route 66 Raceway to be part of the PEAK Street Car Shootout, he brought the Fiero to deliver it to Mary and family. For Mary, this car represents a chance to drive a car she missed out on as a teenager.

“When I was fifteen, my father had a red Fiero,” said Mary. “And I always wanted to drive it, but we had a GMC Jimmy also, and my mom said ‘which car do you want to take?’ My dad said ‘take the bigger car because you can throw your leg over and hit the brake.’”

As a result, Mary drove the GMC, and didn’t drive with her dad until she was over 21 years old, and by that time, the Fiero was gone.

And with that, our fourth giveaway is complete!
