Sick On The Green Adds Stick Shift Class to Line-Up, and Tremec Transmissions as Class Sponsor

There is a growing number of enthusiasts that prefer a manual transmission for their ride, and the racing community, as well as several events on the drag and drive calendar, have embraced this with a specific class.

Sick On The Green will join that list, as the 3-day event in Bowling Green, Kentucky will feature a Stick Shift class sponsored by Tremec Transmissions.

The Stick Shift class is the newest addition to Sick’s second event - Sick On The Green - May 29th-31st at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky. We’re now bringing nine classes to the party, including the popular Lil Gangsta’s class with $10K on the line and our new Sick Street Car Challenge class with $32,000 up for grabs!! It all takes place on the last week in May in Bowling Green, Kentucky! For more details on Sick On The Green, including discounted advance tickets, and over $60K in payouts, CLICK HERE!

“The stick shift community has always been a big part of our traditional drag and drive events,” said Tom Bailey of Sick The Mag. “When we reached out to a few competitors about Sick On The Green possibly having a Stick Shift class, they supported it. Tremec Transmissions did the same, so we’re adding the class to next month’s event!”

“Tremec has a rich history beginning back in 1964,” said Mike Kidd of Tremec Transmission. “The advancement since then has led to a lot of transmission choices for the enthusiast, and that means more support for manual transmission swaps in the aftermarket.”

The Stick Shift class will use a commonly accepted rule set, which centers around a H-pattern transmission and a max 275/60/15 drag radial or 28-inch-tall x 11.5-inch width tire (17-inch diameter wheel and above can use any size tire). The class will qualify off a 4-tenth pro tree, and run for a $4,000 purse.

Tremec will also be onsite with their display trailer and several transmissions, as well as team members to discuss their products. “We are looking forward to being a part of Sick On The Green,” said Mike. “Beech Bend Raceway Park is a great track, and I’m sure the competition will be exciting!”
