Rule Changes For Sick Week 2023 Presented by Gear Vendors
There will be several rule changes and class additions at Sick Week 2023 Presented By Gear Vendors, as we aim to both keep the event in line with other drag-and-drive events and innovate in new areas. We are currently updating the rules PDF so that these changes are reflected.
Class Additions
Super Street - per Hot Rod Drag Week rules
Rowdy Radial - per Rocky Mountain Race Week rules
Junior Street - to be confirmed. We still have a couple of things to iron out on this one.
Class Rule Changes
Modified
Remove:
•The following are the only non-OE-production exterior body panels that may be made of non-metal materials: bumpers, hoods, deck lids, rear hatches, fenders.
•Hood scoops, rear wings, and front air dams of any material are allowed.
•Must use steel floor pans from the firewall to the leading edge of the wheel tubs. Floor pans must be welded to the rocker panels and firewall in the original locations. Floor pans may be notched for subframe connectors or rollcage tubing. The trans tunnel may be modified for transmission clearance.
Add:
•Body panels may be reproduced in any material. No one piece front ends.
Hot Rods
Remove:
Engine •No power adders allowed.
General Changes
Adding D safety designation for cars 11.50 and slower. This will allow us to split what was the single C designation into more easily manageable parts.
Time slips require a reaction time less than 1.000 to be handed in without adjustment. Time slips with a reaction time over 1.000 may be handed in, with the amount over 1.000 to be added to the ET. Reaction time adjustments may not be used to hand in a slip with an ET under a tech limit, ie a 1.100 reaction can not make an 8.40 an 8.50 if you are only teched to 8.50. At the race director’s discretion, a time slip with a reaction time greater than 1.000 may be handed in without adjustment if there are extenuating circumstances, such as an issue with the Christmas tree or an opponent.
Trailer rule will be made the same as Hot Rod Drag Week: Each competition vehicle may tow a single-axle cargo trailer to carry tools, supplies, and spare parts.
