Rocky Mountain Race Week Competitors Display Cars and Make Exhibition Runs During Final Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile High Nationals

Bandimere Speedway, a storied facility that has played host to hundreds of events including Street Car Takeover and stops on Rocky Mountain Race Week, is the center of attention this weekend.

The legendary track is hosting its 43rd and final NHRA national event, the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile High Nationals, and Rocky Mountain Race Week is playing a part in the event.

The track invited four competitors to showcase the Rocky Mountain Race Week drag-and-drive cars:

- Bill Armstrong with his twin-turbocharged, stick shift 1966 Ford Fairlane, which recently picked up the Stick Shift class win at Rocky Mountain Race Week.

- Richard Guido, the 2022 and 2023 Stick Shift class winner at Sick Week with his turbocharged 1965 Pontiac GTO.

- Miles Groves, piloting a Coyote-swapped, stick shift, 1993 Ford Mustang. Goves recently finished second in the NA Small Block class at this year’s Rocky Mountain Race Week with a 10.64 average.

- Anthony Latimer with a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, packing a ProCharger supercharger and ten second potential.

Friday started with breakfast and a short cruise for the four competitors, where they also visited the PFI Speed location. Once at the track, the quartet got prime parking, and a call to line up Friday afternoon with Adam Dorey on the mic to announce the action.

Guido would line up with Armstrong in the first pairing; Armstrong broke his throttle cable while Guido overcame tire spin and a 2-second 60 foot time for a 10.00 at 160 mph pass.

Groves and Latimer lined up in the second pairing, and while Latimer left before the tree was activated, Groves clicked off a 10.90 at 127 mph pass.

Even Matthew Frost got into the action at Bandimere, currently qualified for the Mile High 10.5-inch Tire Shootout class with a 4.56 at 163 mph.
