Richard Flint and Ryan Weger Score Wins in the Street Car Braggin Rights Classes at No Mercy 15 at South Georgia Motorsports Park
After two years of hosting their own annual event, the Braggin Rights events took their ‘Street Car Braggin Rights’ (SCBR) idea to Duck X Productions and the twice yearly radial-based events, Lights Out and No Mercy, held at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP).
Combining street car requirements with radial prep and over ten thousand in payouts, SCBR Extreme and SCBR Elite classes got some notable names and impressive performances.

Featuring a pair of 16-car maximum qualified fields, some seriously quick street cars came out to participate. The classes included teching for street legal requirements, and a 30-minute cruise right before round one of eliminations.
The top qualifier for SCBR Extreme would be Richard ‘RC’ Flint, who laid down a 7.07 at 200 MPH blast for that top spot. Fellow Sick Week Super Street class competitor Michael Ward rolled a 7.34 at 191 mph for second, and Chuck Greer comprised an all 7-second top three with a 7.84 at 180 mph qualifying effort.
The Extreme class also included Sick Week competitors Jordan Boudreaux and Leticia Hughes, and Lights Out champion Lou Iacopetti.
Round one had Flint advancing on a competition single, Greer took out Iacopetti’s Buick, Wakefield upset the higher qualified ride of Tony Whetstone, Ward dismissed Martin, and Hughes took out Boudreaux in an all-Mustang battle.
Round two would be an upset-filled round, with two of the top three runners falling. Hughes rolled her Mustang to the win light over Ward’s Chevy Nova, and Billy Wakefield took his turbocharged Pontiac to the W over Greer.
Flint moved on with the single of the round, earning a date with Wakefield in the semifinals.
Flint took the measure of fellow Florida runner Wakefield, moving him to a final round with Hughes, where the LS-swapped Honda S2000 finished the job with the final win light.
The SCBR Elite class was spearheaded by Rick Fletes, who put his unique diesel-powered 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle at the front of the pack with an 8.79 at 154 mph pass. Ryan Weger locked up the second spot with an 8.95 at 150 mph pass from his Chevrolet Camaro, and Jhalil Johnson landed third with a Ford Mustang carding a 9.18 at 148 mph run.
The opening round of eliminations found three of the top four qualifiers getting the better of their opponents, with Tony Stapleton being the lone wolf to upset Rob Kohler, the number four qualifier.
That moved the class to a semifinal quartet, where Stapleton continued his winning way by dismissing the top qualifier, Fletes. Number two Weger and number three Johnson locked horns to determine an opponent for Stapleton, and Weger got the nod.
The final would be over by the 330 foot mark, when Stapleton had problems, leaving Oklahoma-based Weger a clear path to the finish line and the win.
