PFI Speed Gearing Up for Sick Week with Two Cars Competing, Brent Leivestad’s First Time Behind the Wheel!

With over 365,000 subscribers and a growing following, the PFI Speed crew, led by Brent Leivestad, have brought an awareness to the import scene and some truly unique builds.

Brent has previously done multiple drag-and-drives as a co-pilot with Cleetus on Rocky Mountain Race Week, but the 2023 edition of Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive will bring a few new things to the PFI Speed entries.

“This will be my first time driving on a drag-and-drive as a driver,” said Brent. “Normally I’m the co-pilot, the guy that helps tune and works on the car. This year I have my own ride, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Brent will be racing a 1996 Honda Civic known as the ‘Freedom Civic”, a name that was acquired with the car that he purchased from Cleetus. Brent converted the Civic to all-wheel-drive, added a Honda K-series engine with a single turbocharger for a bump in power, a sequential transmission, and everything is controlled by FuelTech.

Sick Week 2023 Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive will feature hundreds of America’s fastest street cars, racing and cruising through Florida and southern Georgia.

Individual day spectator tickets are available here.

Brent will be joined by his sons Shane and Steven on Sick Week, with Shane returning the 1991 Honda CRX he piloted in 2022.

A car that Shane built from the ground up by himself, the CRX has also been converted to all-wheel-drive, packs a Honda H22 engine and B-series transmission. Shane completed Sick Week in 2022, along with working through engine troubles following day three at Gainesville Raceway.

“The fact we’re are doing Sick Week together is very special to me,” said Brent. “We’re both hoping to run in the 9-second range, but mostly looking forward to having a week of fun and good times.”
