ModNationals, An Event Highlighting the Ford Modular Engine Platform, Is Underway at Bradenton Motorsports Park

A tradition on Veterans Day weekend, the ModNationals event starts its second day of qualifying today at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida.

Created by Justin Young to highlight Ford modular engine platforms, the ModNationals hosts a total of thirteen different classes with over $90,000 in payouts over four days of racing action.

Participants come from several states for this annual event, and range from all-out race cars to ever day street cars and trucks.

Classes include Quarter Mile Modular King, 6R80 / 10R80 Shootout, Outlaw All Motor, to more street-based classes like Modular True Street and All-Motor Grocery Getters.

This year will feature several entries from drag-and-drive events, including Kendall Collins twin-turbo Coyote swapped Maverick, as well as Brett LaSala and his ‘Snot Rocket’ 2012 Mustang.

LaSala has been on a winning streak as of late, picking up class victories at the popular FL2K and recently, the World Cup Finals, clocking a best of 6.48 at 225 mph in route to winning his class.

“Word on the street is there’s a billet engine race car coming out of No Time to out run our little street car,” Brett said. “With this being the last race of the season for us, we decided to not leave anything on the table. Let’s see what these Precision Turbo & Engine Next Gen 83/85-millimeter turbochargers will do!”

Announcing the action over the next three days is noted Rocky Mountain Race Week mic man Adam Dorey, and joining the announcing staff for 2023 is the voice of Street Car Takeover Cliff Parvin.

Qualifying will take place Friday and Saturday, with eliminations being conducted Saturday and Sunday. More information is available at www.modnationals.com.
