From Sick Week 2023 to a Sketchy Win – Cooper Bogetti and Jered Muehlhausen Share in Victory at Street Car Takeover Opening Event

After completing Sick Week 2023 Presented by Gear Vendor Overdrive, Cooper Bogetti would join several drag-and-drive participants one week later for the opening event of Street Car Takeover at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

Cooper planned to join friend Jered Muehlhausen for their second racing event of 2023, as Jered was Cooper’s co-pilot on Sick Week one week earlier.

Saturday racing activities found Cooper behind the wheel of his 2JZ-infused 4th-gen Camaro, and Jered was planning to drive his turbocharged Pontiac Trans Am, better known as “Sketchy Vert.”

But when “Sketchy” suffered transmission issues, Cooper offered up his LS-swapped Mustang “Chip,” fresh from completing Sick Week with a 10.32 average.

While Cooper was clocking 7-second passes in his Camaro, Jered was getting dialed-in for the 10-second index class. At the end of the night, Jered and “Chip” had gotten along quite well, picking up the win in the 10.00 class.

Joining Cooper and Jered in the winner’s circle would be two more drivers with multiple drag-and-drive events under their belts.

Cleetus McFarland, a multi-time winner on Rocky Mountain Drag Week in their Stick Shift class, would take the Corvette known as “Leroy” to the Stick Shift class title at SCT.

Former multi-time drag-and-drive champion Rick Prospero would make his first appearance in his RX7 since October of 2022, and picked up the Street Racer class victory at Street Car Takeover.
