Finding Fluid Solutions in Theory and on Site, Redhorse Performance Expands Their Presence with Sick The Magazine Drag-and-Drive Events

Although it is visually apparent that the number of companies with an on-site appearance at events is dwindling in some automotive circles, the drag-and-drive community is experiencing growth.

Sick the Magazine’s events are a great example of this, with both established companies and newcomers display products, and providing options for competitors to finish their events. One of the newest to the fray is Redhorse Performance, and they marked their arrival in an unusual way.

At the first Sick Summer in June of 2023, Redhorse Performance arrived with a fresh truck and trailer packed with wares for enthusiasts to check out, as well as options for competitors.

“We wanted to give back,” said Kevin Fitzgerald of Redhorse. “It seems like most racers have a few beat up red and blue fittings in their spares box. Some may even have a few sections of hose. If we can help a single racer get back out there with new and better options, that’s our mission.”

By the second day of competition, Sick Summer fell victim to Mother Nature for the day, with action at Byron Dragway canceled for the day. Redhorse Performance jumped on the road, arrived at the Historic Auto Attraction checkpoint, and proceeded to break in their new truck and trailer correctly with a tire-smoking burnout.

“We’ve heard about the trailer burnouts, but they didn’t tell us how much fun it is,” said Kevin.

“The feedback so far has been great,” said Kevin about the two drag-and-drive events they’ve experienced. “We look forward to trying to get out to more events and help more enthusiasts,” said Kevin. For a company with 2,800 different products (and expanding), Kevin is expanding their event appearance, but in small steps.

In 2024, Redhorse Performance brought their wares including TX2K and FL2K, no-prep and World Cup Finals. “We’re expanding our presence every year, and we look forward to meeting more people at Sick the Magazine events in 2025.”
