Cadillac Attack Event at Orlando Speed World Dragway Adds Sick Shootout Class / Testing Options for Sick Week on January 25-27th 2024
Since 2022, Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive has become the kick-off event for the drag-and-drive season. Being the first event of the season, it’s not uncommon to find new builds, as well as existing rides with new updates, rolling into Sick Week untested with fingers crossed hoping for the best.
For the competitors of the 2024 edition of Sick Week, some new testing options, plus a brand-new Sick the Magazine Sick Shootout, have recently been added to Orlando Speed World (OSW) and Cadillac Attack’s schedule!
Cadillac Attack is the brainchild of noted tuner Cal Hartline of Hartline Performance, and for ten years, the Cadillac Attack event has brought together some of the quickest and fastest Cadillacs to north central Florida to enjoy OSW’s cool winter air and known traction.
Known for showcasing some of the quickest Cadillacs in North America, the 2023 edition of Cadillac Attack saw the fastest CTS-V record be set by George Benson, running a 7.43 at 193 mph in a 4200-pound luxury car!
Additionally, as some of GM’s muscle and midsize cars have gotten heavier, they’ve also found a place to race in the Cadillac Attack’s wide array of classes.

Current event promotor Jim Harvest has been involved with Cadillac Attack since 2018, and his first experience was through the eyes of a participant.
“I had just purchased a Cadillac, and was directed to Hartline Performance to tune it up a bit,” said Jim. “Once we started talking about the event, I mentioned I had a background in marketing, and it’s been a great relationship since.”
With over 250 cars and fourteen different classes already on the docket, Jim still saw the potential to accommodate both current and new participants, and teamed up with Tom Bailey to add a Sick the Magazine Sick Shootout to the 2024 edition of Cadillac Attack.
“The drag-and-drive movement is growing, and we always get people that want to test during Cadillac Attack because of Orlando’s great weather and the track’s killer surface,” said Jim. “The addition of the Sick the Magazine Sick Shootout will not only provide for testing, but a chance for drivers to go heads-up in competition and see how they stack up.”
With the Cadillac Attack event starting with private testing on Thursday, January 25th, it gives not only event participants, but also Sick Week competitors a chance to test without a full event ticket commit.
But with at least four class qualifying sessions just for Sick Shootout competitors over the next two days (Friday and Saturday January 26th and 27th), why wouldn’t you jump into competition?
It’s open to all brands, and did we mention the top 32 qualifiers in the Sick Shootout will race for a $2500 purse ($2000 to the winner, $500 to runner-up) on Saturday January 27th?
Okay, we’ll add in one more bonus: The top two competitors in the Sick the Magazine Sick Shootout, that are not entered in Sick Week, will get a competitor ticket into Sick Week. It could be the two finalists, or it could be a couple of third round competitors (if the semifinalists are already entered in Sick Week).
So, with about three months to go before Sick Week 2024, competitors now have options on testing / competing at the starting track of Sick Week, thanks to the Cadillac Attack event.
