Brett LaSala Continues Winning Ways as ModNationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park Wraps After Four Days of Racing Action

After four days in the South Florida sunshine, the ModNationals event celebrating Ford modular engine platform is in the books, and a few familiar faces from the drag-and-drive world are among the winners.

Brett LaSala has had a 2023 to remember, starting with a win in the Modified class at Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive. LaSala took a little time away from the street and track after that, but he’s been busy in October and November, scoring a class victory at the popular FL2K event Bradenton Motorsport Park in Bradenton, Florida, then following with a late-night win at the World Cup Finals in Maryland.

LaSala returned to Bradenton to not only compete in the Extreme 28 class, but also participate in a late-night Saturday grudge match-up of the top four cars in qualifying.

When the weekend was complete, LaSala had earned north of $10,000 by winning the 4-car grudge match on Saturday evening for $3000, then following it up with the Extreme 28 class win.

Evan Smith did a complete overview on the car, including video from LaSala’s recent win at the ModNationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park, below:

The Coyote-swapped twin-turbo Maverick of Kendall Collins, who competed in the Rowdy Radial class at Sick Week this year, led the winner list of drivers in the True Street class, picking up the title of overall winner, as well as the quickest 8-second average.

“It was way too hot (90 degrees to be exact) to be doing 3 back-to-back passes today after a 30-minute cruise, but we got it done,” said Kendall. “Really wanted to do a 7 second average, but ended up with an 8.2 average.”

Sick Week Pro Dial-Your-Own runner Gilbert Correa picked up the 9-second title in True Street, and future Sick Week participant Jeff Smith picked up the runner-up payout in the Stick Shift class.
