2nd Annual Alaska Speed Week is Complete – Michael Roland, Fred Pollard, Kyle Hoagland and Kevin Roland Lead Awards List

With the recent explosion of drag-and-drive events in the last two years, more of North America is getting covered, and therefore more enthusiasts can embark on the drag-and-drive adventure without taking an additional 3-4 days to travel to the event.

The west coast has even enjoyed some events as well, with Redwood Rally, King of The Open Road, and Death Week events all being held in 2023. But a truly unique drag-and-drive events was held for the first time in 2023 when Alaska Speed Week was announced.

The event would be centered around Alaska Raceway Park, an National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) sanctioned quarter-mile track in Palmer Alaska.

Although there is only one track on the event week, the sights and streets of Alaska make it an amazing week to experience.

The drives take competitors to Fairbanks, the North Pole, Denali Park and Glenallen to name just a few locations.

Following a successful first edition, Alaska Speed Week returned for the second running last week, and we’ve got the results!

After all the runs had been counted and over 900 miles of road covered, it was time to crown winners. In the Dial Your Own (DYO) class, Micheal Roland had the smallest spread between his runs to earn the class win. Justin Roland took the runner-up honors.

In the Stick Shift class, Fred Pollard traded his second-place finish from 2023 for the top spot this time around, collecting the award in his 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle.

Kyle Hoagland claimed the Overall Fastest award, and Kevin Brune received the Spirit of the Event award.
