About the car
The Camaro returned to Indy just two years after pacing the race in 1967. With its striking white and “hugger orange” color scheme, the 1969 Camaro SS/RS has become one of the most popular Indy Pace Cars of all times. Chevrolet built 3,675 “Z11” vehicles that were replicas of the ones that paced America’s most famous auto race — the Indy 500.
This is a real deal car, one of those original 3,675 Camaro convertible models with the Z11 code "Indy Sport Convertible" designation. It includes:
Rally Sport / Super Sport option packages.
350 cubic inch small block engine, tied to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
‘Air Induction’ hood, front and rear spoilers.
'Rally' steel wheels with white letter tires.
Posi-traction rear end.
Finished in Dover White with Hugger Orange Stripes and ‘Official Pace Car’ door decals.
