Soccer Mom Gets Updates and Some New Exterior Changes for Sick Week

Converting a race car for street use is an uncommon approach, and even more uncommon for a competitive no-times-shown / grudge race car.

But the team at KSR Performance & Fabrication did the deed to Kimber Jones’ 1979 Chevrolet Camaro in time for the Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive event last season.

The Camaro known as ‘Soccer Mom’ gets the original steel doors, fenders and nose re-installed.

Kevin Smith and Will Stevenson took Soccer Mom on her first drag-and-drive event, resulting in a 7.89 average and a third-place finish in the Pro Street class.

Since last year’s Sick Week, Kevin and Will are making updates to the Camaro, including a new wiring harness, removing the intercooler, and changes to the fuel system.

KSR’s most recent video addressed the latest round of changes as they make final preparations:

Sick Week 2023 Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive will feature hundreds of America’s fastest street cars, racing and cruising through Florida and southern Georgia.

Sick Ward tickets / Individual day spectator tickets are available here.
