Sick Kart Kaos Set for December 7th during PRI Show Week; Who will Walk Away with the Title in 2023?

As a way to kick off the first night of the 2022 Performance and Racing Industry (PRI) Show in Indianapolis, Tom Bailey created Kart Kaos at Fastimes Indoor Karting. With the show ending at 5 p.m., 4-person teams made their way to Fastimes and got in qualifying and practice rounds, ultimately vying for a spot to take home their share of the $2000 purse.

It was such a hit, we will do it all over again, with the 2nd annual Sick Kart Kaos scheduled to take place on Thursday December 7th at Fastimes Indoor Karting.

Half of last year’s top three teams will be returning for another shot at the title, and at the front of that pack is Steve Morris Engines, as well as KSR and Bonnett Race Cars.

They will be joined by a slew of talented teams, including: Sick the Mag, Auto Dynamix, Big 3 Racing, Byron Dragway, Drag and Drive Addiction, Driven Racing Oil, Flying Karts, Gear Vendors Overdrive, Hot Rods by Havlik’s, Mickey Thompson, Moore Race Chassis, Motion Raceworks, NOS, and Redwood Rally/Motorfab.

The first running of Kart Kaos found 16 teams taking the course, and Sick the Mag broke them up into groups of eight teams. The first group had Steve Morris Engines scoring the top spot, followed by the Motortrend team in second and Team KSR (Kevin Smith Performance & Fabrication) in third.

The results of the second group had CB1 Motorsports finishing on top, with Bonnett Race Cars in second and Team Clay Millican grabbed number three.

In the final battle for trophies and the cash, Steve Morris Engines had the second-most laps completed, but CB1 Motorsports would be the one that had made their way around the track for the most laps completed, edging out Morris by just one lap to win.

Sick the Mag’s Kart Kaos will be run as a team event, with four drivers allowed per team. Qualifying will get started at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, and the goal is simple: one of your team’s four drivers needs to put down a lap that makes the top eight quickest times to qualify you for the main event.

The main event should get under way around 9:30 p.m., and will use a lemans style format – meaning each member of your team will participate for approximately twelve minutes. Then the race will come to an “all-stop” to allow for a driver change, then jump back on course!

The team that racks up the most laps completed after all four members of the team have competed, will earn the win and the coveted Kart Kaos 2023 Trophy!

The Sick the Mag staff will have plenty of food, and a cash bar, so even if you aren’t racing, come hang out and enjoy the company and the racing action!
