Bringing the Fuel and Traction to the Drag-and-Drive Party, VP Racing Has Been a Key Ingredient to Sick the Mag Event Success
When discussing the needs of drag-and-drive competitors, the need to fuel your ride properly is near the top of the list, as is the need for traction to get the best time slip possible.
Tom Bailey put an emphasis on both these items when constructing the first Sick Week event in 2022, and VP Racing was on board right from the start.

“Tom recognized the need to take the drag-and-drive experience to the next level,” said Jason Rueckert of VP Racing. “We wanted to do our part to help that vision, and that started at Sick Week two years ago.”
The first step in that vision was making available fuels a reality with a full slate of VP Racing fuels. “When bringing three to four hundred competitors to a race track, you never know what fuels they may have, or the amount they have,” said Jason. “Our ideas to solve that were two-fold: create a way to request fuel in advance, and send a VP Racing truck to bring it to the people.”
A common sight on Sick Week and Sick Summer is the VP Racing semi-truck full of several blends of racing fuel. Competitors can lock in a supply of fresh fuel from the start, and depending on the load of fuel, the trailer will carry it for the duration of the event.
“With so much on a competitor’s plate during a drag-and-drive, we wanted to take away the worry of fuel supply,” Jason said. “Having fresh VP Racing fuel not only available every day, but also the ability to carry it from track to track, makes a huge difference for drag-and-drive participants.”
The other thing that ranks at the top of the want list is traction, and bringing several tracks into the drag-and-drive equation can make that a tough task.
“Putting our heads together, Tom contacted TVC for track preparation, and we provided our traction compound,” said Jason. “Our VP Racing Lane Choice provides the sticky to get competitors their best times at the tracks on Sick Week and Sick Summer routes.”
