Brett LaSala’s Twin-Turbo Coyote Mustang Posts a 4.09 at 184 MPH Blast From Testing

A solid 2023 season for Real Street Performance’s Brett LaSala started with a win at Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive in the Modified class.

Highlighted by a day one 6.52 at 212 mph pass, LaSala eventually ended the week with a 6.74 average.

LaSala has continued to work his numbers down throughout the year, and a recent private test session at Orlando Speed World Dragway produced a 4.09 at 184 mph time slip for the 2012 Ford Mustang known as Snot Rocket.

After LaSala captured his Sick Week win, his next race battle would be FL2K at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Upgrading the twin turbochargers to a pair of Precision Turbo Next Gen 80-millimeter units, LaSala qualified number one in class at 6.451 at 215.65 mph.

In the final round, he lowered the numbers some more, clocking a 6.33 at 224 mph run, claiming the ten thousand dollar check and unofficially setting the Coyote door car record.

LaSala added two more big wins in the month of November - the first coming at World Cup Finals in Maryland, once again showing easy 6.4-second and 225 mph capabilities. Then LaSala followed it up a week later by taking home the $7500 check from the ModNationals for the Extreme 28 class win. Both of these victories came with a brand new pair of Precision Turbo Next Gen R 83/85-millimeter boost-builders in place.

But despite the drag-and-drive and most big events being in the books for 2023, LaSala and the Real Street group have pushed on, testing and finding gains at their hometown track, OSW. The 4.09 eighth-mile best their previous best 4.16 time slip, plus the 1.068 mark at the 60 foot is an eye-opener as well. LaSala now also holds the record for quickest Coyote!

Could LaSala get into the 6.20s at Sick Week 2024?
